Samantha Seewoosurrun elected to CIPR Council

Samantha Seewoosurrun, an international PR professional based in Mauritius and Special Adviser to the CIPR International Committee, has been elected to the Council of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).

Samantha is one of 22 PR professionals elected to the Council, and she will serve a two-year term. The Council has a vital role to play in shaping the institute’s policies, driving forward new initiatives and ensuring that the CIPR continues to be at the forefront of the PR profession. She was selected as a candidate by the Nominations Committee, and voting was held from 22 January to 7 February in an open ballot of members.

Samantha is the Founder of the CIPR Network in Mauritius, which she set up in 2019. She was the Chair of the CIPR International Committee from 2021 to 2024, and was also the Group Chair’s representative on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDIC) Committee from 2023 to 2024. She was awarded a Fellowship by the CIPR in 2021 and won a Volunteer Award for Outstanding Long Service in 2024. She is the Managing Director of the PR agency Perpetual Motion, based in Mauritius.

Speaking about her election, Samantha said:

“It is an honour for me to have been elected to the CIPR Council. I would like to thank all of those who have supported me, including the CIPR International Committee. My aim as a Council member is to bring the benefit of my international experience and perspective to the Council’s discussions to ensure that the organisation is as representative as possible of the PR profession at global level. I am also keen to ensure that CIPR can further develop its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda so that all members are able to avail of the same positive membership experience. Finally, I am committed to supporting CIPR in the development of its future strategy, to ensure that it remains future-proof in the light of rapid technological evolution.”
