Remembering Dr Roger Hayes
CIPR International committee was sad to learn of the death of Dr Roger Hayes, FCIPR.
Robyn de Villiers, Chairman & CEO: Africa – BCW, and former Maggie Nally lecturer said: “I first met Roger many years back when he interviewed me for his book. After that first meeting in Sandton, Johannesburg, we met regularly, whenever he travelled to South Africa or I travelled to London.
"Roger was a consummate professional in everything he did, but more than that, he was a generous human being who had a real focus on making a difference. I know from our many conversations that his teaching role in later years was food for his soul. I had the pleasure of working with his late wife, Maggie, and of getting to know his son, Nick. Roger was also a truly proud husband and father. I will miss our chats and his wise counsel.”
Stephen Waddington, past president of CIPR, said Dr Hayes was a “fearsome advocate for the CIPR internationally”. Read a full blog post from Stephen here.
