Chair’s Message for 2025: Preparing for a Year of Continued Impact and Progress

Dear colleagues,

As we embark on the journey of 2025, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Samantha Seewoosurrun for her outstanding leadership during her three years as Chair of the International Committee. Samantha’s dedication, vision, and tireless efforts have been a true inspiration, and we are all deeply appreciative of the solid foundation she has helped build. Thank you, Samantha, for your exceptional service.

CIPR International Committee Chair, Taazima Kala
Looking ahead, I am honoured to work alongside our 2025 Committee, which welcomes a mix of new and returning members from around the world, including new committee members from the US, South Africa, and Nigeria. While we bid farewell to some valued members, we are excited about the fresh perspectives and ideas that our new colleagues will bring.

I am particularly excited to work with our Committee officers for 2025: Saad Al Rubaiaan as Vice Chair, Nishika Bajaj as Secretary, and Stuart Graham continuing his work as Treasurer. Their collective experience will be invaluable as we continue to move the Committee forward. We are also privileged to continue to be guided by the expertise of Eva Maclaine as a Special Advisor to the Committee once again. Eva is joined now by Professor Anne Gregory and Samantha Seewoosurrun who have also graciously taken on being Special Advisors to the Committee

Also exciting is the fact that we have expanded our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). This year, we have divided the role of EDI Champion into two positions, welcoming Anjali Patil and Nooralhuda Nader Aljlas. This step reflects the importance we place on ensuring that our work as a committee remains inclusive, diverse, and truly representative of the global PR community.

This year, we are building on some incredible achievements, such as the successful introduction of a monthly card payment option for overseas members, which have greatly enhanced accessibility to CIPR membership. Our focus for 2025 will be on leveraging the wealth of talent within our Committee to drive further growth in both membership and Chartership, as well as to strengthen the global connections between PR professionals.

This supports and aligns to the CIPR Global strategy as well, having identified where we believe we can make an impact as International. Our Group has already surpassed the 10,000 member mark, and we aim to build on that momentum, creating even more opportunities for networking, collaboration, and professional development.

I am excited for what lies ahead. There is much we can learn from one another, and together we will continue to shape a stronger, more connected global community of PR professionals. I look forward to working with you all as we embark on what promises to be an exciting and fulfilling year of fostering cultural understanding, building international relationships, and providing platforms for benchmarking and learning.

Best regards,

Taazima

Chair - CIPR International Committee
